SRD supply sound for Proms & Live at the Castle
Two diverse concerts were supplied with sound by SRD Group at 'The Loveliest Castle in the World' Leeds Castle in July. The Open Air Classical Concert featured the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Soloists Tenor - Wynne Evans, Soprano - Elizabeth Watts and Baritone - Richard Morrison, the Band of the Royal Marines, Capital Voices,  plus local choirs. The orchestra was mixed on one Allen & Heath iLive console with 108 input channels, and then fed as stems onto the main front of house and monitor consoles, which were also iLives. The PA system was Outline GTO, which provided excellent clarity and even throw to the delay points. The audience numbered approx 12,500.

The Sunday concert featured The Wanted, Eliza Doolittle, Stacey Solomon, Alexandra Burke and Aggro Santos amongst others. This required a very different stage setup and management compared to the show the previous night. Our experienced stage crew handled the setup and changeovers efficiently. Two monitor and two front of house sound sound consoles were employed to cope with the number of acts and setups. 

New Sennheiser channel 38 radio systems added to rental stock
In preparation for the clearing of Channel 69 wireless microphone frequencies next year, we have invested in a number of G3 500 series beltpack (with lavalier and headset options) and handheld systems. We now also have in stock Sennheiser G3 wireless IEM (in-ear monitor systems).

SRD move to larger premises
In order to cope with the demands of a growth in business, SRD have now co-located their offices and warehouse at East Peckham, near Tonbridge in Kent. The warehouse had already moved to East Peckham a few years ago, and now with both the admin and technical services in one location, it should be easier both for customers and staff. The move also includes taking on additional space for the growing equipment rental stock and allows the service department to work away from the bustle of the hire side of the business. The telephone and fax number remain the same as before.

Stages for live music at Brighton Marathon supplied by SRD
To entertain the runners and audience around the route of the Brighton Marathon, SRD group were contracted by the organisers to supply 9 stages of various sizes for everything from warm-up presenters at the start to DJs and live bands on trailer stages, truck based stages and small roadshow stages around the route. PA systems were supplied at each stage, plus at the start and finish areas. Equipment was supplied mostly from our extensive stock and project management provided by our in-house team.

Brighton Goes Gospel with SRD
We were pleased to provide a GAE PA system for ‘Brighton Goes Gospel 10th anniversary show’ at the Brighton Dome last week. The system provided included 2 hangs of 6 Waveline speakers and a centre hang of 6 Waveline PT elements which provided excellent clarity and coverage throughout the venue. An Allen & Heath iLive desk took care of front of house duties under the skilled control of Rob Spickett and monitors for the band and choir were mixed through a Yamaha M7CL.

An Allen & Heath iLive R72 has been added to our rental stock, along with an iLive iDR16 and iDR32 stage rack, featuring 16 input/8 outputs and 32 inputs/16 outputs respectively. The R72 is perfect for events where a high spec sound desk is required but there's limited space. This joins our iLive 80 and 112 consoles and iDR10 racks. All systems include digital snake' multi-core systems.
