SRD Up In The Air AgainMusic in the Air is the Army Air Corps annual concert and flying display held at the home base of the AAC, Middle Wallop. With aircraft displays from the Red Arrows, the Blue Eagles helicopter display team and various historic aircraft this event attracts up to 15000 members of the public and service personnel. SRD were contracted by WKD Events to cover the 600m wide and 500m deep runway area with both the music of the Army Air Corps Band and the air display commentators. To achieve this SRD used four 10m Piram towers to fly GAE Director Waveline line array as well as an edge of crowd music quality horn system for those patrons who preferred to view from the fence line. System control was an Allen & Heath iLive 80 via optical fibre and Ethersound allowing a commentary & site control position 400m from the stage while the stage performers were mixed on another iLive 122. » 30th July 2008
Allen & Heath ILive Now In StockSRD have recently added the Allen & Heath iLive digital sound console system to the rental stock. We now have both the iLive 80 and 112 control surfaces making the system suitable for both small corporate events and concerts as well as large scale events needing high channel counts. The system runs over Ethersound so allowing a digital mic split for front of house and monitor applications. Up to 64 inputs and 32 outputs are supported with inputs and outputs available at both the desk and iDR10 stage box. Also using our optional optical fibre link the distance between the desk and the control rack can be extended to 150m or even 300m. Available for hire with or without an engineer, this is an extremely powerful flexible mixing system with a small footprint. » 25th April 2008
SRD Can Fly!Following on from our purchase of the new Waveline line array speaker system last year, we have purchased the VMB Piram 10m tower system. This flexible tripod tower has the advantage of being both lightweight and rated to fly 1 ton. Being self supporting the Piram tower does not require large ballast making it ideal for sites with poor or restricted access. It can be used with either a single motor or pair to make adjustments to flown arrays much easier. Due to the size and weight of the truss used, two towers can easily fit into a LWB van and errected with three men in just a few hours without needing telehandlers, cherry pickers or mobile cranes! Please contact the office for more information and a quote for your event. » 6th November 2007
SRD Are Brainiacs! The question is can you make a noise from Britain heard in France with a PA system? The answer is you can with SRD! Other highlights included the destruction of wine glasses and a complete greenhouse using the incredibly high SPL from nearly 50kW of GAE Director loudspeakers. Freelance engineer/comedian Vic Reeves took control of the tone generator via a Yamaha M7CL with the desired destructive results » 15th September 2007
0% Finance Courtesy Of SRD!Most of our customers think of us for sound, lighting and staging. However sometimes we get asked to provide systems for other applications as in this case where the client wanted a 7metre by 3 metre banner advertising 0% finance on their products displayed at their exhibition stand. SRD were pleased to help by building a truss frame, anchored to the ground and installing the banner. So whatever the application, whether it be for sound, lighting, power, staging or any other technical aspect of an event, SRD can probably help. » 5th September 2007
